Living in her adopted city of Nantes since 2013, Julia Charler is the young songwriter hiding behind the artist ISLA. Her first EP record, Chairs, both dark and aerial, was released in 2016. Since then, ISLA has kept combing inland tracks, mocking our troubles and yet being endowed with the freedom to seek the light in them. Chairs is a way to affirm that climbing chairs to sit on the fence is a deep physical art form. Her vocal power and exposed subtlety lay out her musical DNA, inspired by Björk, Radiohead or the french performer Camille. Her writing reminds of artists such as Lhasa, Souchon, or Bashung. ISLA guides her listeners through the streams of human frailty. She is a reliable navigator who explores soul, pop and blues, spanning acoustic atmospheres and electronic musical arrangements.
Trempolino is the project where all the music communities meet and work together: babies and adults, amateurs and professionals, sub-cultures to chart-pop, from Ile de Nantes to the whole world! Therefore, Trempolino contributes to improving the services offered to musicians, territories and their inhabitants, and generally to the music sector in its whole.
